Jack Frost has really been piling on the snow lately! And with more coming this winter, why not take some time to enjoy it!? What better way than to get out and go sledding? Sledding is the perfect way to spend a snowy day, whether you’re looking for something for the whole family, or a fun spot for a date! With winter recess just around the corner, sledding is a great way to stay active. (A sled/tube is a great gift too!) There are lots of opportunities to sled right here. We’ve got the scoop on where to sled in Rochester NY.
Durand Eastman Park in Irondequoit has been mentioned as a favorite sledding place. It’s just around the corner from us. Some areas are safer than others so please be sure to follow the posted guidelines. Just a couple safety tips for those hitting the hills:

- Check the hill! Make sure there are no trees or rocks, or standing water BEFORE you start heading down!!
- Be aware of others around you!
- Dress for success!
- Warm clothes; waterproof items are a plus!!
- Mittens are preferred over gloves #bodyheat
- Dress in layers
- Stagger your zippers
Keep in mind that this park isn’t the only snow in town.
